Normal MNC factory engineers with 5-7 years experience are earning around RM8~12K per month. I guess most of the manager level are earning RM15~30K per month. Those managers could easily earn and save RM1 Million in 5 years based on their monthly income and bonuses.

(1) Wonder how many millionaire in Penang?
=> Too many millionaires in Penang until cannot count. As far as I know most of the managers who work in MNC are millionaires.
(2) How many year graduate student take to become millionaire?
=> it will take 8~12 years.
Sg Ara, get your facts right, u are talking abt those outstanding performance factory engineers/managers, which represent 10% (or maybe lesser?) of the engineers pool….

However whether those landed property over RM1.5m or even RM2m will have any buyer or not! I’m sure there is.
I went to Permai Garden by BSG to view it’s show unit, to my surprise with over 100 units of more than RM1.7m property only left just a handful. So I’m convince that PG has a lot of people capable of buying those million dollar property. Whether these people are from MNC or not I’m not sure but what I’m certain is that there are a lot of businessman out there who earns more than RM30K, RM40K a month
Penang housing is getting similar to Hong Kong in regards to the un-affordability scale. Still go a long way to go though
Lets say the average property in HK is HK$ 3.4m (RM 1,333,333) for a 400 sqft place (shoebox) but the average annual household wage is HK$ 240,000 (RM 94,000)
It takes the average Hong Konger about 14 years salary to pay for a small apartment. It would really take about 50 years to pay for anywhere particularly nice to live in. Whereas for a much lesser amount of money, at least in Penang you can live in a little better than 400sqft
What is the current average Penang Island home worth ?, what is the average household income ?

Generally correct with exception of a few TOP MNC that can give their sr. engr. 7-8K and manager/sr. manager 10-20K… ,

Even in TOP MNC, I doubt how many fresh engineer able to increase their salary from RM3k to RM7k in 5-7 years..they will need ~20% increment EVERY YEAR to achieve that… a typical fresh graduate engineer even save all the salary without spending a cent, also cannot be a millionaire in 8-12 years time…
Granted Bukit Jambul,..surely cannot become millionaire in 8-12yrs. But 3-7K in 5-7yrs is definitely possible. 5%of the top performers usually double their pay every 5yrs and this not including increment for promotion (2X at least from fresh to sr to staff). But of course, not that many…
Actually come to think of it, RM2.5 million for bungalow in Penang island is actually considered “cheap” if compared if other new launched bungalow (e.g. Southbay Lagenda, Vista Jambul, bungalow in Balik Pulau, etc.).

Ya, Agreed. They will buy batu ferringi. Another great approval plan from CM Penang, cheers to the rich folks, die to the next generation of major penangite or factory worker. Lets see 5-8 years with 4-5k can afford those house or not.

One can never be a millionaire by working for others(so what if u r an engineer but still u ra white collar staff!)!U gotta to be venture into business yourself,ie be ur own boss and be ready to work extra hard and have a flair,with instinct to appreciate the opportunities around u.U need to be gutsy to make precise decisions and sometimes daring to take chances too.Millionaires are everywhere in Penang as many belong to those low profile fellas.And,speculating in property is definately one of the easiest ways to be a millionaires!
