Swiss company LEM opens its first plant in Penang

LEM, a renowned leader in electrical measurement technology, has opened its new US$17 million factory in Penang, Malaysia, heralding a significant step forward in the realm of advanced manufacturing. Nestled within the Penang Science Park North in Simpang Ampat, this state-of-the-art facility seamlessly integrates cutting-edge manufacturing technology with environmentally friendly designs, embodying LEM’s commitment to innovation and sustainability.

CEO Frank Rehfeld emphasized Penang’s strategic importance as the location for LEM’s inaugural manufacturing plant in Malaysia. In his address at the inauguration ceremony, Rehfeld lauded Penang’s expertise in semiconductor production, a key factor driving LEM’s substantial investment in the region.

The establishment of the new factory aligns with LEM’s ambitious growth strategy, fueled by increasing global demand for its core products: current and voltage sensors.
