Five-star Penang Marriott Hotel opens
Penang Marriott Hotel, a five-star Marriott brand hotel in the state, officially opens yesterday.
Situated along the prime seafront location of Gurney Drive, the hotel promises breathtaking sea and city views, complemented by its central location in George Town, a Unesco World Heritage Site.
Marriott International area vice-president (Indonesia and Malaysia) Ramesh Jackson stated that the brand’s entry into Penang showcases architectural brilliance, offering a blend of timeless style, charm, and the cultural tapestry that makes Penang unique.
“As one of Malaysia’s liveliest leisure destinations and a hub for business travellers, Penang is an ideal location for a Marriott Hotel. With the opening of Penang Marriott Hotel, we continue to share our legacy of wonderful hospitality as part of the brand’s evolution and modern appeal,” said Ramesh in his speech before Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow officiated the new hotel yesterday.
Deputy Chief Minister II Jagdeep Singh Deo, state Tourism and Creative Economy Committee chairman Wong Hon Wai, and Penang Marriott Hotel, Marriott Executive Apartments Penang, and Marriott Residences Penang complex general manager Subash Basrur were also present.
Ramesh highlighted that Penang Marriott Hotel seamlessly blends modern elegance and comfort, featuring contemporary design, upscale amenities, and a commitment to fostering a sophisticated and welcoming atmosphere.
“Unveiling 223 exquisite rooms that redefine luxury on Penang’s iconic promenade, the hotel promises to elevate any stay on the island. Rooms are designed for a comfortable and luxurious retreat, featuring contemporary amenities and stunning views of the city or the picturesque coastline of the Andaman Sea,” he said.
Apart from the grand ballroom, the hotel offers five flexible function rooms equipped with the latest technology for various events.
