Illegal street racing near Queens Residences causes sleepless nights and safety concerns
According to a report in a Chinese daily, the Queens Residences in Bayan Lepas has been experiencing disturbances caused by illegal street racing and modifications made to vehicles’ exhaust systems.
Almost every weekend at midnight, the sound of revving engines can be heard throughout the quiet night, disturbing residents’ sleep. A resident pointed out that this behavior not only causes inconvenience but also poses a safety threat to drivers and other road users. The resident hopes that the authorities will take action against these unhealthy activities.
The resident captured a video of the noise-making vehicles and reported the issue to the police and the Member of Parliament for Bayan Baru, YB Sim Tze Tzin. In response, YB Sim’s special assistant, Chan Soon Aun, stated that the police have taken action against the noise-makers and illegal street racers in response to the complaints. The police have identified several midnight gathering spots and will continue to crack down on these activities. Chan also urged the public, especially parents, to supervise their children and stay away from any illegal or rogue road activities.
According to the Facebook page of the Southwest District Police in Penang, the police conducted a crackdown operation on Saturday and Sunday mornings at locations where illegal street racers often gather, including the Queens Residences on Bayan Indah Road, Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu Expressway, and Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah.
During the operation, the police issued 131 summonses to violators and confiscated 18 motorcycles in accordance with Section 64(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. If anyone has any information on such criminal activities, they are encouraged to call the Southwest District Police Operations Room at 04-866 4122 or Whatsapp to 019-2238169.
ok, so where’s the Quaywest guy? This is a good time for him to make fun of Queens now. :)))
@coneydog
That’s why I always mention QWest is the best development in this area where fully gated & guarded.
I did mention also about Queens entrance easily in & out without access. And obviously now mat rempit doing wayang in here as they know this area not well guard or gated. I hear this area price will drop soon. Maybe 700k+ only?
Err….. QWest side don’t have same problem? Superd.
@Hemsley
You need to understand the overall development.
QWest is solely residential exclusive gated community. No commercial.
Queens is not a luxury condo but a mix development where everyone can walk in & out easily. That’s why I said so many time don’t expect privacy in Queens.
Yesterday just past through & that’s a group of motorcyclist arrange nicely motorbike Infront of Guard house take photo. Haha….
Wow … Definitely price drop soon…
@Hamilan
Err…. but the sound from the racing bike not able to differentiate residential or commercial.
I think the access for the residential is different from the commercial? Yes? No? For your next visit, maybe you can try to access to the residential area and see whether it is possible.
Prime location = Traffic congestion
With commercial = Poor security
Location with privacy = Outskirt, not convenient.
Bla bla bla
There are always thousand of reasons to like it or dislike.
@Hemsley
As of Q1 definitely accessible. For Q2 even worsen. Yes. Definitely accessible. Nobody will stop you from walking into lobby to enjoy Aircon or coffee. You can sit without any people question you.
I would say cons more than pro for this project. Thousand of cons & few cons.
This only become a news because it is a luxury project. If there’s street racing around hululala residence, no one give a damn.
@coneydog
No worry. Mat rempit wont race nearby QW because they scare of fallen glass.
@Hamilan
Well said and I do agree 100%. Security just sit down or missing in action, walk in anytime for free aircond without anybody questioning at all. The space where the planter box between the lobby and car park entrance is a joke, no grill no nothing and just panjat masuk or just used the grill door come in.
