inset_fd_110116_theedgemarketsThe government is anticipated to ink the development agreement for the long-held up controversial Penang tunnel project today morning just before the Budget 2020 tabling, sources said.

The RM6.34 billion project will be signed between the Penang state government and the main contractor, Consortium Zenith Construction Sdn Bhd, reported The Star yesterday.

Immediately after the signing, work can commence with the first phase or Package 2, comprising the 5.7-km Ayer Itam-Lebuhraya Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu bypass, within a construction period of 36 months.

The signing ceremony for this development would be held by next week, when further details are expected to be revealed, cited the sources.

Oh my goodness, really want to jump and celebrate.

but nowadays kinda difficult to feel happy too early. as i am worried that it will face more complications and gets scrapped. ?!?!??!!

But really want to celebrate this but just dont want to rush and get dissappointed later. nowadays so unsure whether can celebrate yet or not.

I think only when real machineries and physical plants get to the site and start the physical work, i can then celebrate for real.

I m not against adding more new roads, but as long Pg no control number of cars added to Isl, all this time saving are BS. car growth is always faster than new road.

City of Dreams is completed and the RM200 million tunnel study is nowhere to be seen. Wake up guys. More land is going to be given to Zenith/Ewein. IJM had to complete the LCE Expressway BEFORE they could reclaim land for building. Now it’s the other way around.
