After nearly two years of lockdowns and travel restrictions, the buying interest in Penang property is seen rebounding amid the improving economy.

According to our web traffic analytics, PenangPropertyTalk.com has recorded a total of over 2 million pageviews in the first 7 months of 2022, an increase of approximately 18% from 1.69 million in the same period a year ago. Below is a list of 20 most active projects in the first seven months of 2022. As indicated, 60% of them are affordable housing projects, and 9 out of the 20 projects are newly added in 2022.

Top in the list is Ideal Venice Residency, a newly launched affordable housing at Island Glades, which recorded an impressive 54,892 pageviews in early 2022. This project is the second affordable housing development undertaken by Ideal Property Group at Island Glades. Comprising around 1,600 condominium units in two 46-storey residential towers.

This is followed by The Meg at Andaman Island, the highly-anticipated prime reclaimed island of Seri Tanjung Pinang Phase 2A by E&O. Located directly across the waters of Seri Tanjung Pinang and Gurney Drive. Featuring two blocks of 35-storey serviced apartments that consist of 1,020 residential units with innovative layouts designed for young executives and new families.

The Millennia @ Bayan Lepas, ranked third on the list, is the very first affordable housing project by Penang State Housing Board (LPNPP). This development will offer a total of 864 affordable housing units with an indicative price starting from RM300,000 onwards.

Apart from the top 3 above, Lucerne Residences, D’ Starlingtton and Crown Penang are some of the new projects which got into the top 10.

It is also worth mentioning that Suria 2, an affordable housing project by Penang State Government, is the only housing project located in the mainland (Seberang Perai) that made it to the list.
