Affordable housing project by LPNPP broke ground near Bayan Lepas
The Chief Minister, Y.A.B. Tuan Chow Kon Yeow described that the first project launched by the Penang State Housing Board (LPNPP) known as The Millennia@Bayan Lepas will be a vibrant and strategic development hub.
This is because, according to him, it is due to its strategic location near Jalan Mayang Pasir, Bukit Gedong which is an area that is very suitable for industry players, especially the manufacturing sector.
“Generally, this project is located in a vibrant development center, therefore it is seen as very suitable as the related project will provide Affordable Housing (RMM) units to those who earn a living in the Bayan Lepas industrial area.
“Located on a land area of 8.70 acres, the development will include components that are still subject to technical approval from the authorities with a minimum estimate of the total number of housing units to be built is 864 units,” he said during the launch of The Millennia @ Bayan Lepas yesterday.
Also present, Local Government, Housing Development and Town and Country Planning Committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo; Penang State EXCO for Trade & Industry, Entrepreneurial Development, YB. Dato ‘Abdul Halim Hussain; Bayan Baru Member of Parliament, Sim Tze Tzin and LPNPP General Manager, ‘Ainul Fadhilah Samsudi.
Kon Yeow added that apart from planning for new housing projects, the State Government is also actively working on ‘urban renewal’ or redevelopment of old settlement areas for the better.
Jagdeep when speaking to reporters informed that The Millennia@Bayan Lepas project will have a maximum RMM ceiling price of RM300,000.
It is understood the project will begin physical work within seven to eight months from now.
