All systems go for the fair

Contractors setting up booths inside G Hotel's grand ballroom in preparation for the Star Property Fair 2014.

Preparations are in full swing for the Star Property Fair 2014 which will take place at Gurney Plaza and the adjoining G Hotel starting tomorrow until Sunday.

An army of contractors were busy setting up booth structures, bringing in exhibits, and sprucing up the event venue in time for the grand opening at 11.30am tomorrow.

Stacks of exhibition and construction materials will be transformed into gleaming booths featuring both local and international properties.

With a total of 33 exhibitors participating this year, investors and buyers will be spoilt for choice.

Offerings range from landed homes to residential and commercial high-rises, integrated developments, as well as retail and office spaces, among others.

There will be 33 booths at G Hotel’s grand ballroom and foyer area along with the Salon I, II and V function rooms. Over at Gurney Plaza, there are nine booths at the Centre Atrium, New Wing Atrium and near the Gurney Entrance.

Besides properties, the fair, currently in its 12th edition, will also feature a series of property-related talks by industry experts daily.

Visitors to the fair can also look forward to winning Ipad minis, Samsung tablets, mountain bikes and gift vouchers daily by taking part in the ‘Dip & Win’ Property Fair contest.

Participants simply need to purchase a copy of The Star, fill in the cutout of the contest coupon, and answer two simple questions to be in the running. Ivory Properties Group Berhad is the contest sponsor.

Zeon Properties Sdn Bhd is the event partner of the fair, which is open from 10am to 10pm daily. Admission is free.

Seems like Penang property unable to sell. So many booth. Many developer stuck with so many unsold property. I think next year will have firesale from developer. After GST is implemented, more household unable to afford house. Low demand causing price crash. Some more many DIBS condo VP next year. 2015 will be good year to buy property.

Keep an eye on Mampu-milik housing. It will change the whole landscape of affordable housing. They will look something slightly better than The Peak in Tanjong Tokong.

Also, don’t miss out Batu Kawan.

You can almost forget about buying resale condos , they will be useless by then. Unless you need to stay around mat sallehs, then you have no choice but to buy resale in selected area on the island.

I agreed with you that price of condo will collapse and reaching mampu milik price. Or probably lower because The Peak look worse than mampu milik. Kekeke

I don’t think it will collapse, but the thing is, it is irrelevant whether collapse or not, as genuine owner occupiers will be buying mampu-miliks.

Don’t talk rubbish. You already said it will collapse because no resale value.

Hand brake pulled for now. Situation seems to be not positive even with our strong neighbour.

But for own stay sure you can check out and get one which can put the future building and landscape into miniature little lego land best and attract your attention. At least they have put in great effort for now to let you visualize the future.

Well, no transaction doesn’t mean it will collapse. If you look at our Bursa Saham, there are many counters which are inactive, trading only few hundred shares in a day, but that doesn’t mean the price will collapse.

But here’s the thing, a question that investors have to seriously ask themselves; are you making the best use of your money by sitting on something that you can’t turn into cold hard cash?

Well, you can wait for the crash. Stock market not crash because those buy share with cash, not loan.

    @Chocolate

What is important or not important to you has no relevance. But what is important to most house buyers is critical, because that determines the saleability and subsequently the resale value of a piece of property.

You and I are lucky that we own something. But based on what the state is doing, or rather not doing, our next generation would not be so lucky. The perils of “housing slaves” are imminent in the coming generation.
