Muhyiddin sees no logic for Penang tunnel

Property News/ 18 November 2011 Leave a comment

KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has questioned the logic behind the proposed third link between Penang island and the mainland, warning it may end up being a waste of funds.

“It is up to the Penang Government to decide on this project. But I must caution them against wastage.

“Such a mega-project would require a lot of money. What is the need for a tunnel, I don’t know.”

Muhyiddin said there was no evidence the second Penang bridge, which is halfway towards completion, would be inadequate to handle the increasing traffic between the island and the mainland.

“The second bridge is being built with the future in mind. Allow this project to be completed first. then look at the situation over time.

“If it solves the problem, why would they (the state government) need to spend so much?” he asked, responding to the announcement by Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng on the proposed third link that would be in the form of an undersea tunnel.

Don’t talk so much la, nanti kena tangkap. You can see so many mega projects (including the recent opening one, with a lot of gold as raw material) in KL, all consume a lot of money, consume Penangites money too, all logic? No logic la, build the 100++ floor tower so called what merdeka bla bla, logic? At least, the Tunnel can be use by so many Rakyat, i think he forgot about Rakyat Didahulukan, Pencapaian Diutamakan. Mr. M, sent astronaut to space logic kah? No hope and hopeless. But we should appreciate what we have, at least we are better than like Afganistan a little bit.

penang property price is getting higher and higher and no action have been taken by the government to curb this speculative situation, all developer only launch super condominium which can’t afford by working group in bayan lepas and in the end those can’t afford house here will leave the state and this is a drawback to this state. Those developer launching moderate price condominium do not have a good background and delay on the project. The island is more and more congested and more and more crime rate increasing. What can the we all do to change our country? Really No Eye See…

Lim guan eng is busy helping developers to promote luxury properties only which is of no interest to the majority of the penangites. …. he should focus more on building affordable houses for the masses

Are you scare your website been close down for talking politic. I understand your concern LMAO ppl are all selfish… ROFL… Why nothing is been done for the high property price in penang and recently more and more super condominium is been develop. Is this what penang ppl want? Will those super condo help to boast penang economy. What are the politician thinking, what happen if all investor close down their plant in penang because not enough man power? In 10 more years will there any fresh grad able to live and stay in penang and how is the road condition, penang road nowdays is fully park with car and it is very dangerous for penang ppl, 10 more years i think the car will park till blocking the road. Why we want our fate been handed to few politician just to fill in their pocket and do not care about the citizen welfare? The situation is getting from bad to worse and maybe worst. What can we do?

我是甲洞三宝寺 (暹廟) SAMNAK SAMBODHI BUDDHIST ASSOCIATION NO: 19-21 JALAN 38 TAMAN DESA JAYA KEPONG 52100 KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA.

M is not good enough, can’t see the future of Penang. Penang island really needs a complete transportation future plan to resolve the issues which have been staying put since long time ago:
road too narrow, no alternative route, and overcrowded at Island.
LRT is required but can build beside the 2nd link to connect to entire Penang Island. Though it needs massive amount of money, mabe 100bil but, what can foreseen if it has successfully built, it will bring the smoothness of the traffic in Penang and pride of Penang.
Not like KL, all the LRT stop over at ULU area and the urban management is really messy. foreigners came over KL also complaint its development and management.
